International Day of Peace





International Peace Day is celebrated on September 21st of each year. It was established on November 30, 1981 by the General Assembly of the United Nations through resolution 36/67. The Assembly declared that the Day would be observed, on the third Thursday of September each year, as a day of peace and non-violence, and turned an invitation to all nations and people to cease hostilities during the day.
The resolution invited all member states, organizations of the United Nations system, regional and non-governmental organizations and individuals to commemorate the day in an appropriate manner, both through education and public awareness, and in cooperation with the United Nations for peace global.
