World Africa Day
Africa Day occurs annually on May 25, the anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity (called the African Union since 2002) founded on May 25, 1963, the day on which the leaders of 30 of the continent's 32 independent states signed the statute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. However, the name and date of Africa Day was kept as a celebration of African unity.
