World Deaf Day





The first day was organized on September 28, 1958 by the Deaf National Authority in memory for the foundation of the 1951 World Federation of the Deaf, in Rome. The initiative is developed in every nation where at least one Deaf Association is officially recognized by its governments.
The World Day of the Deaf shows the whole world the pride of the deaf and their own cultures and ways of using the deaf of each belonging Nation. It sensitizes the public opinion and the governments for a total integration of the deaf, for a legislative recognition of the LIS to favor its teaching to deaf and non deaf children.
