23 April
World Rose Day

World roses day is linked to World Book Day, as it is a tradition that comes from Catalonia where on the day of Sant Jordi (Saint George), King Alfonso XIII established the day of the book and roses.
For centuries, in the day dedicated to Sant Jordi, many roses are given to the Catalan women, who, according to legend, were born from the blood that flowed from the body of the dragon killed by Sant Jordi.
For this reason April 23, booksellers from all over Catalonia give a rose for each text sold.
