
World Day for Access to Information





On 28 September, the International Right to Know Day is celebrated, the International Day of Data Access. The decision to celebrate and promote September 28th as a world day of access to information was taken at a conference on the subject held on September 28th 2002 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Representatives of freedom of information (FOI) from Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Georgia, Hungary, India, Latvia, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa and the United States of America took part. America.
Today, FOI members are over 200 civil organizations and groups from all over the world. Their task is to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience by organizing international initiatives to improve the freedom of information standards.
